13th DOCOMOMO Council Meeting
The final Agenda for the 13th Docomomo Council Meeting
MAIN RESULTS
. Angola, Israel, Kuwait, Taiwan and Thailand were approved as new DOCOMOMO Working Parties.
. DOCOMOMO Egypt, DOCOMOMO Hong Kong and DOCOMOMO Macao became active Working Parties, losing their provisional status.
. Zara Ferreira was elected as General Secretary of DOCOMOMO International. DOCOMOMO International assigned to Ivan Blasi, who drop his position, a vote of recognition for his work and commitment with DOCOMOMO in the last 4 years.
. The 14th International Docomomo Conference (2016) will be held in Lisbon, under the theme of "Adaptative Re-Use".
. The DOCOMOMO International Specialist Committee on Publications was re-created.
. ISC/Registers: Panayotis Tournikiotis and Marieke Kuipers dropped their positions as Chair and Secretaty, respectively, and were elected as editors. Louise Noelle was elected as interim chair and Maria Rocha Pinto as secretary.
. ISC/Technology: Susan MacDonald dropped her position as secretary. Uta Pottgiesser was elected as the new secretary.
. The new Executive Committee is constituted by Ana Tostoes (Chair of Docomomo International), Zara Ferreira (General Secretary of Docomomo International), Louise Noelle (Representative of the ISCs) and Panayotis Tournikiotis (Former representative of the ISCs).
. The Eindhoven-Seoul Statement 2014 was approved, addressing DOCOMOMO future challenges focused in the theme of re-use and sustainability.

The Egyptian participation:
1- The council meeting was held on 26th Sep. where A Short presentation (2-3 min) has been given by the Egyptian representative of Egypt (Dr. Mai Hawas) representing the Docomomo activities during the last years since the establishment in Nov. 2010
2- During the council meeting, It was approved to remove the provisional status of Egypt. As an application for recognition as a working party was presented in Mexico from Egypt, with all requested documents. Under the condition that an Egyptian representative (Dr. Mai Hawas) would physically participate in the 2014 council meeting.
3- Several discussions with Docomomo International representatives took place, as some have expressed their respectful desire to cooperate with Docomomo Egypt in several activities, including conferences, workshops, providing their experience in regulations & guidelines…etc.
Including the following countries: Iran, Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait, Angola, Canada, India, Korea & Israel. Names & contacts are available.
4- Discussion with Anna Toseos the International Docomomo chair has been held, expressing their relief that Egypt is represented & approved as a working party.
5- Several presented papers reflected worldwide expertise in conservation, adaptive reuse & key notes by the very famous architects in Korea and other countries reflected the importance of non-profit organizations efforts to protect the contemporary built environment in a cooperation with very successful enterprises & governments, and focuses on the cultural influences between east & west that are manifested in the contemporary work of several architects like Mies van der rohe , frank lioyd wright…etc.
